How is the EXPONENTIAL Change affecting the Acting World?

I will let John Kotter from Forbes explain:

*Rate of change in the world today is going up. It’s going up fast, and it’s affecting organizations in a huge way. The evidence of this can be seen almost everywhere—life-cycle of products, number of patents filed in the US Patent Office, amount of cell phone activity across national boundaries—on and on and on. And what’s particularly important is that it’s not just going up. It’s increasingly going up not just in a linear slant, but almost exponentially. And as things speed up, that means more stuff gets changing out there, and organizations to prosper have to react to that. You can’t still do things the way you’ve done in the past and grab opportunities or avoid hazards that come at you. And organizations are not very good at changing.

How is Exponential change going to affect ACTOR’S?

First of all I want to say this is my opinion but I am also looking at the data and the DATA never lies. In this ever changing world the jobs that don’t take commonsense are going to go away!! One thing is for sure, there is only one person you cannot make a Film, TV show, Commercial, Play without and that is the actor!! But somehow we got locked in the trunk of the car, so our jobs are not going anywhere!! My big friend in the entertainment industry and I use to argue I said it would be agents and he says it will be casting directors that will be disposable–who knows? But I know that our business will look COMPLETELY different in 2 years from now, CHANGE IS A COMING!!

Now more than ever you need to be BUSINESS SAVVY and SMART. You need to have a business plan and following it everyday. Part time actor’s get part time results!! Regardless of whether you have an agent you need to be selling yourself and know how to negotiate. If you are an actor you are also an entrepreneur which requires constant, consistent actions towards your customer base!!

This coming Sunday in LA July 23rd we are throwing our 5th annual SUMMER GAMES where you will actually go from BRAND to PITCH and get to pitch yourself in front of REAL CUSTOMERS!!! We are almost sold out so get your ticket now!!!
